MOMENTUM The light is green, the future is forward, and the moment is now.
Now is the moment. Wichita 2011. Welcome to the intersection of planning and progress. Where do we go from here? Wichita’s city core is poised for tremendous growth. In the previous decade, Downtown Wichita has seen over $800 million invested by the public and private sectors. Projects such as Old Town, WaterWalk, Keeper of the Plains and INTRUST Bank Arena distinctly mark our skyline. Mayor Carl Brewer: “Wichita is a great city. Our residents want to make it even better. We’ve achieved a lot in downtown, such as Old Town, the arts and residential life. As I’ve been talking about downtown and what competing cities are doing, people have shown great interest in taking our downtown to the next level. They understand it’s about keeping people here, recruiting new people and business. It’s about our future, and working together, I know we can get there.” And the progress doesn't stop. We are currently seeing multiple developments being proposed, under construction, and nearing completion all over downtown. To help see where all the development is occuring, download the Downtown Development Board and see where the next big project is being done.
